Home sweet home.

I'm back in Sg! Was kind of home sick. Realise I can't sleep well at night anywhere else except for my own comfy bed.

Shopping there was okay, almost went mad buying stuff and bargaining. Didn't really buy alot; a couple of tops, 3 bags, a pair of shoes, tidbits and misc stuff. Stuff there can be dirt cheap or pricey. I spent most of my cash on food. Food there is superb. We were hungry all the time cos we used up all our energy walking nonstop. Tried this beef noodles along the streets on the first night and it was heavenly, too bad didn't take any photo of it. We also tried the jap and italian food there and it was reallyyyyyy dammmnn goooddd.

Only thing that I don't enjoy there is the weather and air quality. It was scorching hot and dusty. Language was a bit of an obstacle, but overcame that with universal body languages (nope, not the middle finger) with a lot of smiles and nodding. Most used phrase of those shopkeepers were "I give you best price" and "Cheapest price for you".

Peektures ahead!

Bangkok Day01

Before the flight in the free shuttle bus to the budget terminal.

As expected of budget flights, our flight was delayed so we got super bored and cranky.

We arrived at Bangkok at around 9 plus in the evening. Totally pooped from waiting in the cab to the hotel due to a traffic jam. By the time we reached the hotel we were too tired to explore around so we settled for dinner along the roadside nearby. Super yummy beef noodles. After that went back and crashed. And thats the end of the first day. HAH.

Bangkok Day02

Breakfast on the first morning.

On our way after breakfast to conquer Mah Boon Krong Center, Hohoho.

Our hotel is tucked away in a little corner along Petchburi Rd, about 15 minutes walk to the shopping centers like MBK, Siam Paragon and Siam Square. Being a budget hotel, it is small and a little old. But the staff were very helpful and friendly and there's a very homely & comfortable feel to it. The little restaurant serves really tasty mango sticky rice dessert. I'm missing that already.

Lunch at Greyhound Cafe @ Siam Centre

A friend from church recommended that we try out this place. It has an extensive menu of thai and western food. We had asparagus soup, baked spinach with mozerella, fried ravioli with cheese and bacon stuffing with salsa and coconut icecream for dessert.

Authentic thai pineapple fried rice, tom yum soup & phad thai at a local thai eatery for dinner.

I'm feeling hungry just looking at the food pics. Dinner was like 3 hours after lunch. We were famished after walking 6 storeys of MBK. So after dinner we headed to Siam Square. It's totally like our very own Bugis Village but 3 times bigger with more shops. I prefer the stuff at SC more than MBK. They've got pretty vintage dresses and tops. But they are not as cheap as we thought they would be.

Will continue with day 3 and 4 tmr!
